Having never attended anything but a small local train show, I'd like to hear what y'all think about the traveling shows like Greenberg, et al. Worth it to go? I can't make it to Orlando for the main event but there are other shows closer.

I don't know if I can say if it's "worth it." There are a number of interesting booths, a few seminars and such. But if you are going specifically for Z, you'll probably be disappointed. You may find MTL at some events, but NTS is about the only one where you'll see everyone.

Thanks, Mark. I suspected as much. To drive through DC & Baltimore traffic for zero Z is a waste of time & money. VA Beach is just down the road from me & they have a show in the fall.

If you are referring to the Aug Greenberg show in Timonium MD, Then no its not worth the trip if your only looking for Z scale. I live 20 minutes from there and probably wont bother going as That show typically has very little if any Z at all. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying its a bad show Its just not a good show if your looking for Z Scale. However the www.gsmts.com/ in October at the Timonium Fairgrounds will most definitely have some Z there. The DC Z Bend Track Group has a 30 x 40 foot area reserved for our module layout. The gsmts typically holds 4 shows there a year October and February shows are always packed with 3-1/2 acres of trains (Yes it really is that big) and they usually have a couple vendors there selling Z. The April show is in the same building but its not as packed as Oct Feb shows DC Z Bend has also bin setting up at the April show. The June show sets up in the smaller Exhibition hall which is a smaller but Air Conditioned building on the fairgrounds lot and it is hit or miss it may or may not have any Z (This is the show where i found the AZL Brass from a individual seller not a regular vendor) And while we are on the subject if you or anyone else is in the area in October stop on buy the Show and say Hi Bring your trains and give them a spin on our layout. We Run both DC and DCC so bring what you have and come join us for the fun. David

Thanks, David. I have been looking at both the Oct & Feb shows. Having lived in NOVA at one time, Feb's weather can be real iffy. Fall sounds better! We have a show coming up the end of Sept at the VA Beach Convention Cntr but have no idea who will be there. It's my first show & in my local club, I'm their first Z scaler.
