I have two of the very original RLW GP38-2s. SP #4820 and 4836. Very poor runners. If someone here knows what to do in order to make them fine workhorses, I would appreciate. Otherwise, they will remain in their boxes for ever.

Another option is to pick up one of the new AZL GP38-2's and swap the RLW Body onto the AZL Chassis. David

Hard to tell how many RLW GP38-2 were actually made. After the exclusive Ztrack deal, other locomotives were sold as well. I will contact Jon LaMere and get his best guess. I have at least 5 complete locomotives. My guess is 50-60 complete locomotives. Perhaps more.

But I will try your link's tip... if I need it. Provided I've no real use for these SP units in my Mexican world. Dom
