Well by my count, it's at least 30 or 34 (depending how one handles the runner pack). Two shots per car and that can get you to 70 or so.

I don't recall committing to buying any of the new releases, especially since I didn't know what was being released.

Very nice looking, but does anyone know when these had the green and gold safety stripes applied to the ends. I know that C&NW's track inspection car CNW 430, a modified RDC-3, had the green and gold stripes applied to one end. But I've not seen any photos of the stripes on C&NW's RDC-1s and RDC-2 (CNW 9935).

Agree, would be good to see a prototype picture of those RDC-1, I can't find any. All pictures show an overall silver only.

Digging through my references I find that Frank's image is #430, is an attempt to build an inspection car from an RDC-3 acquired from Conrail 1975. For the RDC-1s (and the RDC-2) I've found builder images from 1950, the early test trains running to 1955 and revenue train from 1955 to Sept. 1956. All were bare faced. I can find no images for the last 12 months of operation, so I can't say how they were painted then.

The "standard" revenue train was 2 RDC-1s and the RDC-2, although images exist showing trains with only the two RDC-1s.

I have one from the first release that will run on 170mm. 220 should not be an issue. Trey
