Our Brooklyn, the youngest member of the tribe, has wanted to play with Shasta for a while now but to be honest the risk was probably a bit too much. His birthday was approaching and I was musing on building him a 00 scale layout when a listing on ebay caught my eye. A complete z layout with two locos, controller, numerous Kibri buildings and also a full box of new Peco flexitrack which at the time was standing with a very low opening bid. It was buyer collect from a town called Cleator Moor about six miles from work so I put in a maximum bid and to be honest sort of forgot about it. A few days later and I had got it for the equivalent of about $75! Collecting it the following day the scenery was faded and it was a bit mucky but other than that it was fine, also as a bonus was a Relco track cleaner built in to it. I threw myself in to tarting it up as the boys birthday approached and a couple of days before had it sussed and running well The controller supplied was one of the old blue ones with the direction switch so I subbed one of the later ones with a separate power supply mounted on one end One happy little lad!
