Rob A, why did you use the wrong shelll for the FEC 102. The correct shell. You have the right shell in the CITX.

I rather be thrown under a train than a bus Detected the error when the units had been painted. Too late to change it and a rather small blunder. Our manufacturer assumed the various FEC SD70M-2s where identical. For those of you that wonder exactly what the small mistake was, I will explain: Later versions of the SD70ACe and SDF70M-2 had a modified Cab Nose for crash protection. This is mostly visible (in Z scale) by a thin line across the nose and the sides of the nose. The locomotive shell is the same.

I rather be thrown under a train than a bus Excellent! Now that we are done with the bus: this way to the train tracks, sir. Seriously: My bad - we try to check one another's work, but given the number of products we produce, things do slip through.

I will still get one, but it bugs a little that you have the right shell and didn't use it.

Not going to happen, unless some greedy bastard posts one on ebay.
There were only 50 of these (like many of the Heritage runs). Don't ask me why. I assume they didn't need the extra money and preferred the afflicted pain. And only available if you subscribed to the Heritage program (all of the locos, which I assume *most* of you were not interested in), through Ztrack.
Some dealers subscribed and figured they could do us a favor and break up the sets for individual purchase (yeah). But, unless you were thinking ahead, to 'prescribe' to that theory and, just found out about the 'individual' unit, . . . too late.

If I recall correctly, when the heritage units were first announced, Hans said that each loco would be limited to 50 units but the SP would be 70 units. If this is correct, you should try to contact as many dealers as possible. Who knows? The extra 20 units might increase your odds of getting one. On the other hand, the DRGW run was less than 50 and made that unit more difficult to get.

Thanks, Guys!
I appreciate your thoughts on this.
Got the first two UP Heritage units by sheer luck. Got the D&RGW that way, too.
This one had more units produced ...so it is even more frustrating to not get one.
Anyway, Thanks again!
Rory
