 I spend the warm, sunny morning at this fantastic food diner since I got the information that Espee will have a test train coming by with strange looking German diesels at the head. Perfect place to have brunch and wait & see .................  In the meanwhile, one can have a closer look at the car float work ..... |

Another great scene. Of course for California and the era in question, the diner would be an A&W:  sitting back and sucking down a cold draft root beer. |

Aaaaw, dang!! They had the best rootbeer floats too!! I think we had a set of they're mugs back in the 70's, we went there alot!! Great burgers too!  |

Aaaaw, dang!! They had the best rootbeer floats too!! I think we had a set of they're mugs back in the 70's, we went there alot!! Great burgers too! Yeah. For me it was sitting at the A&W with my granddad sipping the root beer and watching the CS/Burlington trains go by. Then buying a gallon of root beer in the brown glass bottle and taking it home to make root beer floats with homemade vanilla ice cream. An experience that can't be duplicated. Fortunately I got one of Randy Brown's kits. |

Once the test train had cleared the tracks, a long WP coal train went slowly passing by.  Two diesels are sufficient for this fully loaded train, or are there helpers at the end  ?  Have a nice WE! Sven |
