I LOVE the daylight fantasy schemes! Makes me want to do some Santa Fe fantasy units. I have a hard time imagining a Santa Fe fantasy scheme. ATSF and it's successor have already put a war bonnet in some shape and color on just about everything that rolls. One thought would be a 21th century DRGW ski train: Prospector paint scheme, superliner baggage, a couple of coaches and a parlor. Or maybe a Coast Daylight in a black widow scheme?

Not a SP fan but that loco and those cars just look "right"in that scheme.A Santa Fe war bonnet would be cool too.

Another thought would be the NP green. My problem with Santa Fe is that I can't help but remember a Bugs Bunny cartoon: "Here comes the Super Chief:"

You know, Amtrak has their "Heritage" series locos they did. Wouldn't it be cool if they tapped into the true heritage of the railroads they got equipment from on Day 1 and did some of the classic schemes on the P42's? Thinking CB&Q, NP Leowy, ATSF Warbonnet, Illinois Central, MKT/Frisco Texas Special, MoPac, SP Daylight, Southern, Pennsy, GN, etc. (For the record I'm not really sure how many of those schemes were still in the mix at that point, but you get the idea)
