I was watching Finishing Your Scenery with Dave Frary and he had a flocking applicator which consisted of a plastic bottle with a lid with holes in it and a magnet wrapped around the top by holed area.
Anybody ever use this method?

Mark, I haven't seen the video, but I have to say I don't understand the magnet. Personally, I think I would want to avoid using any material that can be affected by a magnet around electric trains, or turnouts and any mechanics as fine as Z.

Anybody ever use this method? Mark Could be that the magnet is used to [collect] any ferrous metallic particles that might be picked up by the locos magnets or other DC fields in the layout...

This looks like a good idea if you don't have a lot of area to cover.
