Sweet, Milwaukee Road A-B-A sets!
Now if they only had the Dynamic Brake unit like their prototypes and as seen on the AZL UP E8/9 during NTS. Maybe the DB units will be available as spare parts.

Looks great in the A-B or A-B-A style. Just wondering if we will see B units for UP and SP Daylight since Marklin is slow in releasing those liveries(?)

You missed the answers since you're a new member. UP B units will be available. I'm guessing (since I'm not associated with AZL) that Marklin will receive their units about the same time they're available to us. SP never had any B units. The units you've seen in Daylight were E7Bs. Hope this helps, Mark

Thanx for the reply, Markm
Could you please give me a link to the answers?
And what do you mean that "guessing (since I'm not associated with AZL) that Marklin will receive their units about the same time they're available to us. Does that mean that both AZL and Marklin will put out a UP and SP E8? With different road numbers?
I'd like to catch up on the answers. My Marklin dealer says their E8's won't arrive arrive until late fall of this year.

AZL and Marklin will release the UP, SP and PRR E units at roughly the same time. They will have different road numbers as well. At this time I cannot comment on the delivery schedule other than the actual production is slated for late April. There are some differences between the AZL and Marklin E units. All Marklin units will have the Marklin Z scale coupler. The Marklin coupler box is integrated into the truck. Thus the truck will be a unique Marklin part. Sincerely, Hans (AZL)

fulingyu, First, welcome to the group. I would suggest you browse the threads on this site: there are some interesting and sometimes intense discussions of AZL products here. You'll get the best information of planned and soon to be released products. It's also the place where you can interface with the principles of AZL which, if you haven't already guessed, includes Hans. Marklin's late Fall date has been widely reported and the one I've been assuming for some time for UP/SP. Of course issues like the west coast dock strikes can cause schedules to slip. I had to comment on the Daylight B units, because I made the E7B vs. E8B mistake myself. If you're interested in the E8/E9 history and modeling details, may I suggest the SP section of railfan.net site. In particular try: espee.railfan.net/spe-08.htmlespee.railfan.net/spe-09.htmlI will warn you the site has a lot of information and it's way easy to get lost in it all. There is a discussion here from a couple months back about AZL making an E8B/E9B anyway. But my experience with AZL is that they like to leave the fantasy rolling stock to other manufacturers. Hope this helps, Mark

Thanks for the info, Hans. For some odd reason, I was under the impression that Marklin was releasing the UP and SP versions while AZL was releasing Pennsy and everybody else. Perhaps I was reading the release articles in Ztrack magazine incorrectly.
Are there other differences between the Marklin and AZL units other than the Marklin coupler truck? Differences in grill covers and/or horns maybe?
Markm, thanks for the links. The historical facts have cleared up some of my confusion about the SP's - which got carried over to the new release models.
