I don't recall ever seeing a heavyweight dome car in the style AZL is currently producing.

If memory serves me, GN experimented with a 3/4 Dome built from a heavyweight prior to building the streamliner version. But one car hardly makes for a product line.
I too would like to see the aluminum passenger cars, but as it has been pointed out before the road specific options for the streamliner era were staggering, almost forcing one into brass like the AZL Daylight sets.
I may be speaking out of turn, but maybe we should be directing our requests toward Oregon: they have much of the streamliner data to produce the domed observation, they have direct control of their manufacturing and given an appropriate kick in the butt, ought to be able to produce that car quickly.

Mark Since the owner of MTL has little to no interest in Z-scale... I seriously doubt that will ever happen. MTL is more interested in putting out endless rehashes of old body-styles that only require minimal efforts in artwork and pad-printing. With the exception of a few weathered and graffiti releases... I'm just not buying MTL. Rant off.

Perhaps it's time for a new owner for MTL. Some of us here could pool our financial resources and with the help of some statically placed investors, swoop in and take over the company and start producing new products again.
