If any come up that you already have Commodore, I’m also interested in filling out my Empire Builder collection.

If they are of any use, I’ve just noticed a (very) few Microtrains GN and NP coaches have re-appeared on the ZScaleMonster website.

I have a few of the AZL Empire Builder cars and the E7, I was considering the Microtrains cars but was concerned about the color match. They look very faded in comparison. Has anyone seen them side-by-side?

Believe the pictures - there is a slight colour difference.

Has anyone seen them side-by-side? Good observation: I have both, 28 in this picture + 6 MTL F-7's and 2 AZL E-7's. You can't see much in the picture but I've darkened the sides on a few MTL's to match AZL's darker green. ...I did it with a thin film of oil. The faded roofs look prototypical as part of an AZL + MTL trainset.

How do you keep the oil transferring to others? When I weather cars, it’s a must to lacquer seal to keep fingerprints from transferring. Do you have a macro pix comparison? I always desire uneven results of shades, gloss-to-dull, etc.

I did this in 2019 ...when the AZL first hit the market.
I took the roof off the MTL bodies and rubbed them with an old oily terrycloth (part of a towel) Then I buffed them with a t-shirt and re-assembled everything.
At the time, it looked really good to me! Now you can hardly tell... I did it because I did not like the scale of the AZL baggage cars and much preferred the MTL.
You know how hard it is to upload a good picture to this forum...
Anyway, I've been in the hobby so long that I have a ton of MTL (and Marklin) passenger cars. The Marklin are mostly collector pieces, now ...but still run MTL and filling in the missing ones.
I have to say that AZL did an excellent job on the Budd cars. Perfect scale size, too!
I'm focusing on those from now on.
I need Silver Buckle #4735 #72106-1 and Silver Brand #4736 #72106-2
I'll pay a premium to get them, too!
FWIW: Who knows if AZL will rerun Burlington??? I do know they won't rerun Golden State because Rob said so... But I have all those!
Thanks again Rory

Evidently they are ALL sold out...
I did, however, order the Pere Marquette train set that was in my cart from last year!
Thanks again!
....Still need the Dome Coaches
