I had the opportunity to see Big Boy #4014, today, for the first time - just amazing!!! It was in Rochelle, Illinois, for the weekend but I didn’t want to hassle with the crowds. #4014 departed Rochelle around 9:00 am this morning… went through Cortland, Illinois around 9:40 where we captured it!  While I’m a fan of diesels, words cannot express how impressive this locomotive is! If you have not witnessed this in person and it’s coming near you, I urge you to take the opportunity and see it live - its well worth the trip. Lastly, Hans/Rob, I certainly hope you consider reproducing these - wish I had bought one the first time around when they were brass |

Nice. It is impressive. I'm not huge into steam either but I've seen the Big Boy and the Challenger in action and it's worth a half day off work for sure.
I would definitely buy a Big Boy or Challenger in plastic as a "modern" 90's+ excursion version and an accompanying business train.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be inexpensive, even for a plastic Big Boy version, but I’d be all in for it. It would be so cool to run it on my layout.  |
