Yes it is official! We are working on the GE C44-9W and GE AC4400! In the late 90s AZL (even if it said Rogue Locomotive Works on the package) came out with our very first brass model, the C44-9W. That makes this project special. First put in service in 1993, this locomotives is very much still in use. Even the original Santa Fe War Red War-bonnet paint scheme is still around. Mechanically we are fortunate to be able to utilise our current ES44AC chassis. This will shorten the development time considerably. We hope to have the locomotives by this time next year. We will put as much detail we can into this run. C44-9W and C44-9W roadnames: ATSF, BNSF, BC Rail, CN, C&NW, NS, SP and UP AC4400 roadnames: UP, CSX, KCS, SP, Ferromex, NS, C&NW We are going to do patches as well as multiple colorschemes for each railroad ATSF C44-9W left side.pdf (83 KB) UP AC4400 left side.pdf (84.34 KB)

BNSF "H1" scheme, please and thank you!! Yes, please please please do both the H1 and the Heritage-II Dash 9's. Here is my probable list: (qty in parens) BNSF H1 C44-9W (1-2) BNSF H-II C44-9W (5+) BNSF SWB C44-9W (1-2) ATSF SWB C44-9W (2-3) NS C40-9W (1) UP C44-9W (1-2) CSX C44-9W (1) UP AC4400 (1) SP AC4400 (1) And likely 2-3 BNSF AC4400's if they ever come around.

Well, BNSF has repainted some of the H1 Dash 9s to H3, so you could do the swoosh on a Dash 9, too! <ducks> (I wouldn't do an H3 Dash 9. They are really rare and don't do much for building an interesting consist.) Agreed that BNSF AC4400s would be a good idea (in H2). They were the fifth biggest buyer of the locomotive, with 121 of them, plus 20 of the extremely similar aside from the trucks AC44C4M. In the warbonnet Dash 9s, there are interesting possibilities for hybrid paint schemes with some panels in warbonnet and some in H2. The Frankenbonnet 4729 would be the most distinctive (in hybrid paint from 2014 to the present), but there loads of warbonnets with the air conditioner in H2 paint and other Dash 9s with panels from the other paint scheme.

I would be in for 4 BNSF H1 and 4 Santa Fe SuperFleet and probably 2-3 BNSF H2. 👍🏻
Do you have plans to make different phases? The Dash 9 has had many changes over the years, different trucks, grilles, cabs, doors and handrails to name a few…

And yes, we don't joke about the over-Swoosh situation. In fact, I would put pretty good money on them doing a Swoosh Dash 9. Their love for that scheme knows no bounds. We'll have Swoosh F7's and RS3's before you know it. But hey, at least we have two BNSF Swoosh SD40-2's in Z now, (and zero H-1 ) because that is what *everyone* has been asking for. I guess? I'm probably on the fence about the panels and Frankenbonnet Dash 9's. I would probably buy one SWB-panel'ed Heritage-II if it were a subtle, one-panel-on-one-side sort of deal. I prefer modeling the mundane/normal...I realize that probably in my 2007-timeframe there were enough of the rogue panel replacements that it would warrant one. I wonder if the panels couldn't be done with decals easy enough. The A/C units would be another story...I could be talked into one maybe, versus the 2nd BNSF Silver Warbonnet. ANYway, we should focus ...I'm just trying to make sure we get BNSF Heritage-II, BNSF Heritage 1, and ATSF Warbonnet. With those three, I can pretty much make things work. Start throwing shiny objects at AZL and they'll have Iowa Interstate replacing BNSF Heritage-II again. I actually have serious concerns that somehow H1 isn't going to make their radar.
