I could use some advice on this. I just purchased a new AZL New York Central F3 A-B Set and within minutes broke the font coupler on the B unit. Can I replace the front truck on the B unit with the spare truck that comes with the set? If not, can I purchase a new coupler? I have not been able to find where to buy a coupler. I'm new to Z scale. I did HO for a good number of years but decided to build a Z scale layout since it fits in my townhouse much better than HO!
My apologies if this question has been answered before.
Thanks,
Joe

If I could ask one more question about this since I want to make sure that I completely understand what I am doing. From what I have read and seen in posts here, changing a truck simply requires using a small flathead screwdriver to pop the existing truck off and then simply popping in the new truck without the need to take the body of the engine off first. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Joe

I personally find it easier to take off the shell and partially unscrew the body screw on the end I'm replacing. In theory you can do it as you describe, but I find it a bit tight and worry about deconstructing the truck, which is a bit of a nightmare (at least from my experience).

Removing the shell on a F3 / F7 A or B unit. Holding it upside down i slip my fingernails between the fuel tank and the shell while gently pulling them apart i lift the front truck and it slips right off. To remove the truck i loosen the screws on each side of the truck i want to remove. You only need to turn them 1/3 to 1/2 turn each No More then use a screwdriver between the frame halves to pry them apart about no more than half a millimeter and the truck will come right off with a gentle wiggle. The coupler box cover is then popped off with a gentle twisting / lifting using a pair of tweezers the broken coupler parts removed and the cover is replaced with out a coupler as this loco in this video will be using the drawbar I found it easier to put the cover back on first then simply slide the drawbar into the end of the pocket till it snaps in place. When reassembling only retighten the screws the same 1/3 or 1/2 turn that you loosened them. over tightening them or leaving them too loose can cause the loco to not run as well as it did before.
