This release is a little bit hard to swallow for me. Even though Amazon started out in 1994 and changed to Amazon 1995, the logo never came out until 2000. blog.logomyway.com/history-amazon-logo-design/The last time I saw spine cars being used was the early '90's. But I'm not sure when they were stopped being used altogether.

But I'm not sure when they were stopped being used altogether. Spine cars remain widely in-use still to this day. Thousands of 3 and 5 unit cars of the 53ft and 57ft variety are utilized daily. The only spines no longer active are the 48ft cars, with many of them scrapped or “stretched” through rebuild programs to accommodate longer trailers. However, regarding the Amazon trailers, it’s a different issue. Logo information notwithstanding, they didn’t start running their own fleet of these trailers until around 2015. So they're valid for about the last 8 years or so.

I took this picture from the upper deck of M & T Bank Stadium in July 2018. That is 18 years after Amazon came out with that logo. This sure looks like Amazon Trailers on spine cars io me Taken 2 years ago n Hodge Ca!

Yes these cars are definitely in use today! A few months back, I saw a long string of these cars sitting right next to Lake Erie. What was neat about them was that they had the new TTX logo.
Great find on the video! I noticed the FedEx containers mixed in. You can easily add the 906557-1 AOK MAXI-IV Set 55286 set which came with 3x of those containers to represent the real train on your layout.

How soon can we get the white Amazon container with blue arrow? Rob A. didn't seem to appreciate my question when I asked him...

How soon can we get the white Amazon container with blue arrow? Rob A. didn't seem to appreciate my question when I asked him... Did you ask about them selling the containers individually? What was the answer? I've been curious myself. Plenty of 40s and 53s I would like to have. [EDIT: Nevermind, misread your request.] I may actually have one of the Amazon 53s for sale...was pending but I think the buyer is having to alter his purchase after Black Friday. (general, not AZL's) [EDIT: this isn't a white one, it's the blue one.]

Wow! I had no idea they were still in use! Thanks for all the incite. There's a CSX line a few miles north of me that runs east/west that I get stopped at a lot, and the last time I saw the spine cars was early '90's. In their place came the container well cars.
