This is so awesome, love these locos!! But you forgot the Oakways in your list, I'm sure it was just a typo, right?

But you forgot the Oakways in your list, I'm sure it was just a typo, right? Yes, Oakways please... azlforum.com/thread/2480/request-oakway-leasing-sd60-schemeHappy to see the SD60 series. I'll likely buy BN and UP SD60M's, and (please lord) Oakway SD60's. Tempted by KCS and SP and maybe a UP standard-60.

I can confirm! The Old Port Shop would appreciate them all!! Especially if we could get East Coast ones (so that we can stop trying to do them by ourselves ;-) !! ) Best, Sven

On the SD50s for MoPac – original blue or merger yellow? I'd vote for a nice screaming eagle personally.

Another exciting model. Utah Railway had SD50S. I’ll pick up a few in D&RGW and SP for helpers. Now we just need the GATX Tank Train to go with these and our Tunnel Motors!

Do I read that right -- *only* the 3-window SD60M and not the 2-window version or the SD60I? The roadname list supports that. Seems odd with all the other version specificity...

During a heatwave one summer, I explored a rail yard that was no more. Where there was once a hump track (for lack of a better term) was a cinderbed road surrounded by briars and tall weeds. There were bush crickets and black rabbits at almost every turn. It was sweltering. Making my way across the yard to get a glimpse of the mainline, I could hear nothing but insects. Down the straightaway, in the distance, was a shimmering image of what I thought was the face of a GP40 with that new Chessie-Seaboard railroad name (CSX). Couldn’t hear it. Could hardly make it out. It appeared as a heat mirage. The face of the train was grey but it blended in with surrounding color of the foliage. Tracking it with my eyes was a bit of a struggle. It was an empty coal drag bound for West Virginia. Of course, the road was that merger CSX. Years later I learned that the locos were SD50s or SD60s, and that that virtually all-grey paint scheme was known as stealth. Stealth, as I know firsthand, made locomotives difficult to see and difficult to see in various weather conditions (conditions of rain and fog, at grade crossings, etc.). Three distinct paint schemes for any road name is of historic curiosity and interest. I find this especially true when they coexisted in roughly the same timeframe. Examples that come to mind are New Haven, Denver, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, CSX, Chessie, Western Maryland, and so forth. With the AZL release of CSX SD50s and CSX SD60s, it is my hope that one there will be a release of the (non-yellow nose, -white top, or -blue top) virtually all-grey paint scheme called stealth. “Five of the worst locomotive paint schemes” (Trains.com): www.trains.com/trn/railroads/locomotives/five-of-the-worst-locomotive-paint-schemes/Scott

Looking forward to seeing some artwork on these. For several there is a range of choices with regard to logo to use (e.g., my prior post on MoPac).

Missouri Pacific SD 50s were delivered in Nov/Dec 1984 in grey and yellow, from my researches, so presumably the AZL models will be same.

Given those delivery dates, I don't see how it could be otherwise – but there are pictures of purported SD50s with screaming eagles online.
