It appears the top left edge light on your web page burned out. Just need to change the bulb. The optimist in me hopes this is a nod to AZL's new weathered line...

No, it’s going into a tunnel. You know, a ‘Tunnel’, a tunnel is nearby. Like ‘Tunnel’ on a dark locomotive. 🤪

It was all of the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. That makes more sense than anything else I know of.

“Eclipse” effect I recognize as a Photoshop artifact. Generally, has to do with masking, layers, or both. EZ cleanup. Sometimes graphic design folks don’t catch things on a big screen. ... Say, isn’t Photoshop part of a model railroader’s skillset? Consider Photoshop for printing one-inch billboard ads. Consider Photoshop for printing decals. … Say, none of us just sit back and collect rolling stock, … right? There’s more to the hobby! Benchwork, T-Trak-Z modules, wiring, Chitubox, and laser-engraving are some that remain on my list. …

For our "daily" work it is not necessary to buy PhotoShop, a software like the French "PhotoFiltre" is enough ; I don't know how it is nowadays but when I downloaded it (version 6.5.3 from 2012 ! ) there were basic free functions which were enough for me, only some advanced functions needed registration.
