Are all the AZL body mount couplers functional?
I know the ones on the SW1500 are, but what about the Alco PA units? Marklin opted for the truck mounted coupler. What if I wanted to run the PA in an A-B-A setup, will the body mount couple work or would I need to get a couple mounted truck assembly like the EMD E & F models?
thanks.

Well, answered my own question. The Alco PA front body mount couplers are not functional.
AZL. Is there a front truck replacement available so these units can be run A-B-A?

I think it comes with it, like the other locos do?

Rob.
Gonna kick this horse again. Looking at the picture on AZL Direct, the truck shown appears to match the rear truck on the Alco units. For lack of the actual name, the Coupler box shows too short and a coupler box similar to the GB-38 truck would be needed. In essence, to change the trucks on an Alco unit, two different tucks would be needed with different length couple boxes. Just don't want to buy this truck if it's not going to work.
Am I correct, or do I need to sit in the corner and be quiet.....
Thanks,

^^^^ Thanks Frank. While i believe this is a good general question for the forum and not a Customer Service question, I will contact AZL directly.

Agree. That is an amazing layout. The couplers work with those long sweeping turns. Not so much with the radius of Marklin track.

Since this post and my direct email to AZL have been met with crickets, I think it’s safe to assume the ALCO PA can not run in an A-A-B-A configuration unless your layout has wide radius curves.
The front truck replacement does not exist.
