Well, since most all the B&O heavyweights are sold out, was this unit run with the lightweights?
Asking for a friend…

Relatively early for a Saturday I woke and rose from bed. Decided I was going to head over to Trader Joe’s for a week’s worth. AZL website was still on my laptop screen. Rather than click the close box, I hit the refresh button. What an unsuspected pleasant surprise! “April Bonus Release.” Most irregular! O Joy! Just as E7s were ushered in with the Baltimore and Ohio, combine cars are ushered in with Baltimore and Ohio. Wowee!! … AZL gives holiday gifts when there is no holiday—National Jelly Bean Day?! By 18 past the hour, I had placed my order. Trader Joe’s can wait. Lottsa tinned trout in the cupboard.

From the picture provided, it looks as if the baggage end has a body-mounted coupler, with the usual truck mounted coupler with steps at the passenger end. Am I correct ? Also, which other roads will feature in the release programme, please ?

Both trucks have the coupler mounted on them. You are correct, the one on the baggage end does not have the stairs.

Perfect for the end of my Union Pacific mixed train! "You are correct, the one on the baggage end does not have the stairs." Hmmm, might have to correct that...

Yeah - that was a bit of a head-scratcher for me too. I love this hobby because it is YOUR stuff - do what makes YOU happy. If you want to add steps, go for it! We put metal stirrups on the baggage door because that's how they made them - no steps on the end because there is no door on the end. But again, if you want to add them because you like the look, I say go for it!
