Enjoy the day all here in the U.S. for everyone else the 4th of July is just another work day. While the Freedom Train PA looks great, it’s important to note that a number of railroad produced bicentennial locomotives. Southern Pacific was no exception, producing four: U25B 6800 , GS-4 4449, EMD GP40P-2 3197, and EMD SD45T-2 9389 Since the U.S. semiquincentennial is just four years away, perhaps AZL should start thinking about producing these locomotives. We all want these locomotives, and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. is a really good excuse. Finally, surely there were other railroad that celebrated the bicentennial. Mark

In 1976/77 there was already an HO bicentennial model, by Atlas/Rivarossi or Lima as far as I remember ...

A little bit delayed since I’ve been under a blackout due to a wildfire here, but here’s a list of all the prototype bicentennial varnish. www.thedieselshop.us/Bicentennial.HTMLOne could make a career just trying to model them all

Would be sweet to see the 4449 in AFT colors in Z!
