Hi AZL enthusiasts!
I created my account here and have an important question to ask the community… Important for me (and maybe others) that is…. Note: Before creating this thread I did look through the existing thread(s) but did not find an answer to my question.
I made the decision to transition my z scale rolling stock from Marklin to AZL; key reason as I am interested in modern US equipment from UP in the modern area. Marklin quality is great - grew up with it as a kid in the Netherlands - but US rolling stock selection is very limited. Living in the USA, AZL not only has a vast US market oriented product portfolio it also helps our economy.
I posted a question on AZL direct regarding UP locomotives and came to understand that a possible re-run of the EMD SD70ACe locomotives is planned which likely includes Union Pacific prototypes. Is there any information available on whether this correct - the forum here seems to corroborate that story. GREAT! Any projections on when these units will be available for purchase?
Thanks in advance for any details! -Tiest

February comment from Hans: azlforum.com/post/25286March 16 he said the orders were submitted to manufacturer. As for exact timing they usually don't offer those details.

Ties Welkom,
I’m not associated with AZL (beyond my pocketbook), but I try to keep track of items they announce. What I find is about an 18 month lead time between announcements and the product I want being available. Reruns seem to take about half that, depending on changes and additions. As AZL relies on contract manufacturing, sometimes they don’t know the schedule until the delivery truck arrives.
It would be nice if AZL could publish a schedule with quarterly resolution, they are a small operation and given the choice, I’d rather them focus on producing trains more than schedules.
