I wanted to share a build I have been working on. This scene is based on the crossing in Dunkirk, OH. I have watched trains run through this crossing. It is a neat area. The module is built to the T-Trak-Z standard. My main goal is to be able to showcase Z scale products when we go to shows. So in this piece has items from Archistories, Rokuhan, Raildig, MCZ and Showcase Miniatures. The scene can act as a stand alone display, or be integrated into a T-Trak-Z module setup. I tried to compress the scene as little as possible. I did move the farmhouse forward so it would be part of the module. The rest of the area is just compressed slightly. The backdrop was created using photos from the actual location, then spliced together. I would say it is about 97% complete. I am still waiting on additional utility buildings and details to arrive from Germany. I so can't wait to run trains through this module!

Here is an idea of the level of detail. When I was exploring the scene, I found that the railroad was storing old cross bars behind a 40' container next to the tower. I knew I had to replicate that on the scene!

Looks great with the decently weathered track. The level of detail is great.. the backdrop enhances and complements the module. Good job๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ BR Boris

I am working on the article for Ztrack Magazine on our Dunkirk, OH module. I went back and took a screen capture from the video we shot of the crossing in 2019. Hey, good chance to duplicate the train on the scene, right? Well AZL already had the CSX ES44ACs in their catalog. One call out on the train I captured on video is that the locos were running elephant style. So this was replicated as well! And yes, I have a string of autoracks ready to go behind this pair.

And yes, I have a string of autoracks ready to go behind this pair. AutoMax autoracks? EDIT: I initially thought that was an Automax car just behind the loco, at first glance. Still might be, but it seems the perforated panel openings are narrower than the traditional Automax's. May just be a variation or some other car entirely. Anyway, wishful thinking for sure. :-) Your module looks amazing by the way, can't wait for the article!

Here is a link to the video. Check it out for yourself! I LOVE the sounds the cars make going over the crossing.

I LOVE the sounds the cars make going over the crossing. Rob, Thanks for posting the video. You should come to north Texas on Friday, May 27th for the "24 Hours @ Saginaw" event. Interlocking of two BNSF lines and one UP line, (and including Amtrak) centered among 3 huge grain/flour facilities and numerous yards/industry in the area. Plus two Trinity railcar facilities. So LOTS of diamond pounding over the weekend....about 50-60 trains/transfers or so. I'm sure Dunkirk is equally as busy but it's a good change of scenery...let me know if you're interested in some extended "product research." :-D www.facebook.com/24hoursatSaginawP.S. I still didn't figure out what type of autorack that is. It looks very much like an AutoMax car, but slightly different. Regardless, I still want to keep reinforcing my interest in the AutoMax autoracks that you teased. I wouldn't buy them in the same quantities as Maxi-IV's, Trinity 5161's, or select bethgons, but they are strongly in my top 5.

Today we released the kit of the tower. Here are the details: ZTRACK DISTRIBUTION โ ARCHISTORIES NEW PRODUCTS May 2021 NEW INTERLOCKING TOWER AND ACCESSORY KIT Ztrack and Archistories has teamed up to release a brick railroad interlocking tower kit. This dual purpose kit allows you to build the tower with two different configurations. Brick towers such as these can be found across North America. They are used for switch control and to guard railroad crossings. The inspiration for the kit came from the โcastleโ tower in Dunkirk, Ohio. This tower is located at the Dunkirk crossing where a north-south line intersects an east-west line. The tower represents a later version of the tower where the roof was removed and replaced with a flat roof. The second version of the kit is inspired by the tower in Haley, Indiana. It has the more traditional roof with overhang. This look represents the towers as they were originally built. The kit is manufactured from architectural cardstock. All parts come pre-colored so no painting is required. Signage is part of the kit. Illustrated instructions are included. Dimensions: approx. 28ร25ร40 (LรWรH in mm without stairs). Ztrack and Archistories also partnered with Z-Doktor in Germany to release a special tower upgrade kit. This kit includes two drain pipes (one for each roof configuration), a window air-conditioning unit and two railroad utility buildings. One is rust brown, the other is silver. The utility buildings were again inspired by those in Dunkirk. But they are common across North America. The tower kit is item:โ102221. These kits are available direct through Ztrack Center or through authorized Ztrack Distribution dealers. The accessory kit is also available direct through Ztrack Center or our authorized dealers. The kit is item ZD-220-50002-5. Order today at: www.ztrackcenter.comRob Kluz Ztrack Distribution
