Good evening, I present to you my z-scale project in a guitar case. I am in France in Paris and this project must be carried out in a small apartment where the space is quite small. I have a few locomotives and wagons to start with. Currently I'm thinking about the layout and the heights of the buildings so that the suitcase closes without damaging the sets.

Good evening everyone,
I am surprised to find Parisians on this forum. I just visited the layout of Ptitrairouge, bravo, superb, I am impressed by his work. I noticed on the photos a Digitrax power plant. I also want to equip my locos with DCC, but for the moment, except for the 3 AZL locos which are new, I am repairing the F7 Marklin which are new but blocked because they haven't run for a very long time. Some pictures of the results soon.

Great work. I’ve been a fan of them. Unfortunately, you’ll be running MTL or AZL with modified to MTL coupler and . . . MTL freight ;(

Good evening, Here are images following the repair of my ABA F7 coupling from Marklin. I had to do a complete disassembly, cleaning and repair of the socket contacts, then a little tinkering on the two A units so that they are electrically independent. Everything works fine but a little noisy, the speed is high (7.5v on the video) but I plan to install a decoder, this will solve this speed problem. Aesthetically the position of the trucks is not correct, but the purchase price of this set in Marklin is more accessible and easier to find in Europe.

Hello, Not much progress on my layout. Before continuing I try to find what setting up for my decor and my buildings. I just found on a French forum, the site of Charlie who makes beautiful US buildings. My suitcase space being restricted and especially the height, I made small cardboard montages of the buildings to scale, helping me with the dimensions and images from Charlie's site. All I have to do is set it up in the suitcase to make sure everything fits before ordering it. us.leforum.eu/index.phpzandusmodels.wordpress.com/

Good evening, Resumption of work on my suitcase network for the winter period. My idea is to loop the main track outside the suitcase. This route will be easily removable and must be able to be stored in the suitcase for transport. I just ordered bridge elements and Marklin pillars to do this loop. I also validated the passage of AZL cars on Marklin curves of 145mm radius. AZL cars need to be modified slightly to run properly, but the modification is simple and not noticeable.

I finally received all the parts needed to complete the tour of the suitcase from the outside. The tests are conclusive as shown in my previous video. I need now find a solution so that the establishment of this airway and its storage be as simple as possible. I had to cut the bottom of the suitcase along its entire length to store the part in a straight line complete with bridge piers still in place. Only the two curves are disassembled, which facilitates assembly/disassembly and avoids the risk of breakage during these operations. The track plan has been slightly adapted to this new arrangement.
