You really do NOT know the opposite. That is what they thought would sell, didn't. Hence the Friday deals. Look at AZL Direct (www.azldirect.com) and many Dealers that are still in stock, some released many years ago. Its NOT an exact science (but, they can [sometimes] make re-runs). Yes, from what AZL is saying--and what has played out with things like the ATSF F7's--is that they have better capabilities now to re-run things more quickly. So that's good news, and lets them err on the side of caution so they don't have so much leftover Friday fodder. On the flip side of that is ES44's that are now about to hit year 5 since one could purchase a BNSF or UP unit. (and Pennsy NS Heritage) Similar timeframe for the SD70ACe's although at least they are supposedly in the pipeline. Has to be about the same timeframe on the bethgons, too. I understand that some of the tooling was lost in the China meltdown but I'm hoping we see all of these items soon.

I’m just going to throw this out there: Recently N Scale Supply started carrying AZL products and apparently it takes about two weeks for boxes to get from Ohio to Arvada Colorado. So those things that sold out the night they were released, were listed for sale on the 27th.

Yes N Scale Supply is one of our newest authorized dealers. They are diving into Z big time. And more importantly, they have a standing order with us and will be getting all the new releases. We have multiple orders heading their way as I type this. Rob

Yes, it's wonderful there's a committed Z scale dealer in the Denver area! The pandemic was the last nail in the coffin for Caboose, which was on the other side of Denver. But Caboose did horrible with on-line sales. N Scale Supply is pretty much the opposite - where they do a ton of web sales. Just so people are aware, and in case it matters in the future, N Scale Supply is the same company as Rocky Mountain Train Supply. rockymountaintrainsupply.com/I stopped by their store several months ago and was excited to hear they were working on expanding into more scales and moving to a larger warehouse. They were trying to make the name sound less N-centric. But right now for on-line ordering, it still redirects you to nscalesupply.com I just noticed they have a Facebook page for Rocky Mountain Train Supply. Looks like they make their AZL announcements there roughly 10-20 days after the initial release. Could be very useful if there is a quick sellout. Edit: The slower delivery/processing times were around Christmas. Looks like this last one was about 7 days after the initial release.

It’s funny how this thread has turn around. I missed out on the R70s as well. Only the second time in 30+ years that I missed out. The other being the UP heritage SP SD70. The reason for that is my local train store. They got to know me and knew what I wanted (and how much I was willing to spend each month) and made it available. It’s hard to do this on the internet despite their AIs. I’m a bit envious of you folks who have physical access to N Scale Supply as these days the only train store with Z near me is a 4 hour excursion.

Markm, you are lucky, mine is across the Atlantic, we dont have any stores in South Africa, so I am reliant on AZL and ZCM. Or ebay if I am wiling to pay up to 3x the price with shipping and all other cost.

That's the way I felt moving to South Carolina.
