Rob, suggestion here - how about creating am article for MR showing the ease at installing a DCC decoder in a GP38-2 ? Shows off how easy Z Scale DCC can be plus better coverage of Z trains. James

Hey James, You seem rather literate in your posts. Just a suggestion here - maybe you could write the article? Mark

Mark, You made me laugh. I was hoping for somebody like John Cubbin or Rob Kluz who can make what he writes interesting to read. I'm not that guy. But thanks for thinking I could. James

Mark, You made me laugh. I was hoping for somebody like John Cubbin or Rob Kluz who can make what he writes interesting to read. I'm not that guy. But thanks for thinking I could. James Very kind, thank you On a near-related note, it is very frustrating to get the DCC manufacturers to even talk about their own products as they relate to Z scale. I have approached, repeatedly, both Digitrax and TCS and put out the idea of doing a series on Z scale DCC with direct input from both companies. TCS just wasn't interested and Digitrax kept putting the idea off for future consideration, this goes back years. I'm not DCC-savvy and I thought a great way to approach a Z scale DCC article series would be from a from a beginner's perspective. While MR has been absent in large part from presenting Z except for the very occasional article, they're not the only ones who tend to overlook the Z audience and Z buyers. What's even more puzzling to me is when a manufacturer does make a product for Z scale and then don't seem to want to get involved promoting their work. John Cubbin Raildig.com

I received a pair of GN Mikados late last week, just in time for a GTE show. The one I used ran fine, the other has yet to leave the jewel case. I'll even confess to running it through the 195mm radius turn on my layout, instead of the 220mm recommended minimum - it balked a little bit, but it made it.
As to the DCC, I would like to see such an article. I've fumbled my way through some "drop-in" installations, but a good article on the subject would help.
