I love DL&W and EL. Now that I have F7s to run, how about lightweight passenger cars so I can run the Phoebe Snow.

Dang, these F7s are really tempting me....
While my layout is not era or location specific, I still like to run the trains that way.. problem is I don’t see much for Erie Lackawanna rolling stock.
I know the era is mid 60’s, but what would be a good setup of 12-15 cars? I suppose some of the 1918 tank cars coming out, rolling stock from Pennsylvania, what else?

Not so much tempted by the EL, but would spring for the F7 NP (Loewy), SP & D&RGW. Mark

I have some rolling stock appropriate for EL that I’ve been accumulating in anticipation of AZL releasing a EL RS3, including some EL boxcars and a caboose, courtesy of eBay. I’ll try to post what I have but I’m not at home at the moment to take a look. I just placed an order with Anthony for all three EL units. I’ve been waiting forever, hoping to see some EL locos, not counting the NS Heritage units, so I’m pleasantly surprised to see the EL F7s. Here’s a nice shot of 6351 outside the old EL Marion OH diesel shop, with some RS3s in the background. The EL is long gone, along with most of the track in it’s old western route, but the large Marion diesel shop is still active as a Union tank car facility.

OK, here’s what I’ve accumulated that could reasonably represent some rolling stock for EL. It’s just an example and I’m sure there’s other appropriate rolling stock. As you mentioned, there’s not much in EL but there’s other appropriate flags, eg. Rock Island, NYC, UP. I well remember watching a lot of EL traffic and would see a lot of non-EL rolling stock. Micro-Trains EL 40’ Box Car 14104 “ EL 50’ Standard Box Car 5050070 “ EL 50’ Gondola w/Scrap Metal Load 52200171 “ EL 50’ Gondola (no load, different road number) “ EL Caboose 52200172 (I don’t believe it’s prototypical but it looks OK) Non-EL but of the era: “ UP 40’ Box Car 50100301 “ UP 40’ Box Car 50100302 “ NYC 50’ Box Car 50600161 “ NYC 50’ Box Car 50600352 “ NYC 40’ Box Car 50000057 “ NYC 50’ Box Car 50600351 “ Rock Island 40’ Box Car 50300182 “ Rock Island 40’ Box Car 50300181 “ UP 40’ Box Car 50300191 “ Lackawanna 40’ Box Car 14812-12 “ CB&Q 40’ Box Car 50300151

So you'd probably see alot of those cars as well in a train consist.

With the EL running from Chicago to the East Coast, there was a lot of various traffic. A lot of rolling stock other than EL.
