Greetings,
Some time back, there were mentions of potential new runs of both the Bethgon Coalporters and also the ES44AC's.
We did get the announcement of another run of SD70ACe's so that is excellent news for modern Z-scale coal hauling. Thank you for that.
Can you provide any update about the Bethgons and the ES44's?

I know Hans is working on ES44 and SD70ACe orders, but nothing on Bethgons. We had plans for re-runs of a bunch of freight cars, but got so busy with new projects that quite a few ideas were put on the back burner. I think Bethgons was one of those that got passed over. |

But there was a comment about several unannounced things yet and I had hoped these two were among those. I really thought we'd have another run of ES44's already...to find out they're not even on the list for release this year is disappointing. Back when everyone was asking what happened to the BNSF Heritage-II, you stated 4 years...which comes up in July. A lot of us have been patiently waiting. I anxiously awaited what I thought was a slam-dunk BNSF Heritage-II AC4400 that was supposedly pending release when I got into Z in 2015....now 6 years later still nothing.  Weird, we can get more F7's in four months. Z-Scale has been one-step forward, two-steps back since I started...it just took two-steps back again.  |

I understand the disappointment. We suffer the same when a factory tells us that all of our projects just got pushed back 9 months because they got an order from the Very Big Company. In fact, this is exactly why we usually do not comment on what we are working on until it is well into production. Years ago we used to make announcements with longer time lines, but we got burned too many times. Now we shorten the time between announcement and delivery. On the whole, most people seem more satisfied. |
