Thanks to Sven, got my pitiful brass Daylight collection out of storage.
Seem to have lost the small bags of screws/connectors for the cars... Sven!

For sure, Commodore, And the new thread will deal with the famous Daylight train, GS3/GS4 Locomotives, ........ The starting point will be the Pacific Coast Line (with a connection towards the Niles Car Float module --> azlforum.com/thread/725/california-dreaming-area-niles-junction?page=14 ). The planning for this is ready for quite a while: With some of AZL's most beautiful brass models; Enjoy your WE! Best, Sven

Quick question to the audience: Which season shall we model? Spring? Fall? or conservatively; Summer? Winter - in California? Best, Sven PS: This is "Indian Summer"

I've always liked the colors of Fall, but a good winter scene is great too!

It may be a bit cliché, but as a California boy, I think California looks the best in the Spring. Even before summer, most of the routes used by the GS3/4 get rather brown: and stay that way well into Fall when they become wet and brown, unless we are unlucky and it turns black: Very few places get the Fall color like the east coast or Rockies. By Winter the lower elevations will start showing signs of green but for the most part remain wet and brown with a few exceptions that get very wet: For the higher elevations, it's all about snow, and not the winter wonderland people imagine: However by Spring, the grass is green again, although we may have a bit of snow: just waiting for the wildflowers to bloom: Mark

A few years ago I tried to rally enough interest to get AZL to do a second production run but we were short just a few votes and then by morning we were short more than a few votes...

Me too, but in the basic black, non-Daylight colors!

The GS3 & GS4 are beautiful locomotives whether plain black and stripped or in full dress with Daylight colors! Maybe it's time to petition AZL to do another production run! Last time they wanted 50 committed pre-orders... I think we got about 40... Should we try again?!

Since Rob A. is telling us there is currently no brass shop, does it really make any difference? I would suggest looking into the possibility of doing a GS-6. Then you would have the WP 480-series locomotives for additional prototypes. I know Hans had said that the GS-6 wasn't feasible when they did the GS-3/4, but times have changed.
Personally, I would be interested in one SP unit for the San Joaquin Daylight and a WP unit.
