Hi Folks,
Before everyone goes bonkers wondering why new items are not posted at the strike of midnight on June 1, the reason is a shipping delay from me to Rob Kluz. I expect he will have the inventory sometime middle / late next week.
But I think you’re going to agree that this release is worth the minor delay!
Enjoy, -Rob(A) AZL

Hey Rob,
Since my SP SD40-2 from somebody else got to me only 9 months late, I see no reason to fret over a few days for what have become very regular and frequent product releases.

Gasp!!!! Not sure what I’m gonna do to fill the time.... ;-)
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve actually been holding off on a purchase from one of the dealers till the June announcement came out.

Rob and Hans,
Thank you. And thanks for releasing the Geeps at the same time as the lightweights. Now the whole train will be ready to run right out of the box when the shipment arrives. They look beautiful.
Is this why the poll winner wasn't released first? Waiting for the lightweights to arrive?
EDIT: Happy Birthday, Peter.

Now, the Alaska set was not what I was hoping to be released but that set sure is sharp. Momma saw it and likes it and gave me the green light. Dang, my order just got mor expensive.....

I agree the AZL railcars and GP38-2's are great! Thanks Hans and Rob.
In case others are interested in doing something similar to what I'm working toward, I'm trying to generally re-create one version of the Alaska passenger train that runs between Anchorage and Fairbanks. It's what is shown in this Youtube video (someone else's video). It has a pretty ridiculous number of different types of cars since various cruise lines own a few cars each that get included in various numbers into the already hodge-podge mix of cars along with the ARR cars.
I was a spectator at last year's NTS in Utah. At that time I actually talked to Hans about the double-level Alaska cars. He was very familiar with those rail cars. He said the limited use of those types of rail cars isn't widespread enough to be worthwhile for AZL to make a product out of them. That's very understandable.
So I'm working on getting the various double level cars in Z scale on Shapeways to go along with the single level ARR cars that AZL just released. One guy on Shapeways actually has most of those cars already available in N scale. I have an agreement with him and I'm working with him to get those cars available in Z scale now. I've done a couple of test prints and refined the design. So it shouldn't be long before those are available. The Z scale cars will appear on that same guy's Shapeways store soon. I'm posting this here only because it works hand-in-hand with AZL's latest release. Maybe other people are interested in recreating this unique ARR train too.

As some people seems to be interested in ARR models it will be great , if AZL , add a pair of sd70-m or/and a pair of gp 40-2 ....and some freight cars.

I haven't been paying attention to the is release but tonight decided to order some Alaska stuff. What dealers, other than ZSM, USZScale and ZGauge are even carrying the Alaska stuff? I looked at the AZL dealer list and no one else listed has or had it.

MB Klein should have stock. The Hobby Smith in Portland Oregon also placed orders.
