Am I the only one here that gets excited with anticipation of the next AZL release?
I have a life and other things to do but dang, it’s just plain and simple fun seeing what the Team AZL puts out on the 1st and 15th of every month....
So what’s it gonna be? A new Maxi road name? lightweight passenger cars? A limited run of the Western Pacific Heritage SD70ACe unit that so many of us missed when they first came out?.......

How many WP Heritage units were produced? Less than 10? I don't have an SP Heritage and I'd really like one.... Now that you've brought it up.

If I recall correctly, AZL originally stated that they were limiting the heritage SD70ACe's to 50 units each. However, the SP was supposed to be bumped up to 70 units produced. I don't know how accurate these numbers are. And I think they also said something about the DRGW was shorted by the factory to less than 40 units(?). Obviously, all these amounts were way too low as every UP heritage sold out immediately. Definitely agree we need another run of the UP heritage SD70ACe's.

I have to admit, I can't wait to post the new items! We always shoot for the 1st and 15th... but as you see, we can't always hit those dates. But it is our goal!

At the time of the UP heritage releases, I was buying through a local dealer. As I understand it, dealers get a one business day advanced email which explains the differences in announcement days and suggests a reason for getting chummy with a dealer. He ordered two: one for my standing request for anything WP & SP and one for himself, which quickly went to a BAZBoy. As for the SP, they were sold out by the time they read their mail. My memory of the quantities are the same as fullingyu. I do have to say the WP unit is a work of art, in prototype and 1:220.

This is funny. Needtrains.com is closing out the NS Heritage units at half-off.

This is funny. Needtrains.com is closing out the NS Heritage units at half-off. Hmmm. Let's see. Both the UP and NS Heritage units were released in 2016. Four years later, some dealers still have NS units in stock and are closing them out at half-off. Now contrast that with every UP Heritage selling out almost immediately - with some units selling out before some dealers could even take their stock. I remember hearing that some dealers requested five units but could only receive two units. Yes, I know that NS had more road liveries than UP had, but it is still interesting. Especially since I remember somebody putting up all of the UP Heritage models individually on auction for more than double the retail price. Not trying to start a West Coast/East Coast feud here, mind you. However, the huge difference in how the Heritage units were selling points out and supports the idea that a second run of UP Heritage should be seriously considered. Perhaps a poll could shed more light on this? I think I've seen more than a couple of people on this forum talking about missing out on the UP Heritage models. If enough people agreed to buy them, would AZL consider another run? I am pretty sure that I would buy a couple of them, at least.
