So we all know a new run of GP38-2s will be released this year. Yeah! But in what order should we release them? Well that is up to you! Let us hear your opinion! One vote only please... Bribery will supersede all votes. Flattery will get you no where...

The one I really want is BNSF, and I want it to be last so I'll hopefully have time to replenish my hobby fund after the Maxi-I's are done.  So I picked "Fisco" (sic) since it sounds funny. I truly wouldn't mind a pair of F risco units, as well as a pair of MKT and one SP. But good chance none of that happens. Probably if any I'll try to finagle the MKT units--after BNSF of course. Honestly, I'm just having a little fun. I really don't care what order they're in. I appreciate AZL doing these, especially the BNSF that I've been clamoring for. |

Since they all look good, I have no real preference in the release order. One suggestion though, try to release the Alaska geep units in the same month that you release the Alaska streamline light weights. That way we can buy a complete train at the same time. |

No vote from me. Regardless which ones come out on top, someone will be complaining.
How about something a little different and release one road number for every road per month? It would give people a chance to refuel their bank accounts.

I went with UP but more importantly, when does the blank come out? I need that so I can scrap my broken framed motor of my first UP unit.

We tried a few undecorated shells releases in the past. Not a big seller and with all our options, it is hard to configure the undecorated locomotive.
But we will keep it in mind for the next GP38-2 release

My only question is can we get them with DDC preinstalled? We tried that in the past, but it was an inventory disaster. It required us to double the number of SKUs and that created additional shortages and surpluses all across the product line. Labor cost to adjust units to DCC or Analog was a killer too. So, we suggest that qualified dealers should be able to do the DCC installation work for you. The analog PCB production cost just a few cents so there is no real savings to not include it in the package. |
