Could it be possible, once you fine folks at AZL come out with the SD40-2, if you put the chassis under your SD70 with a standard cab? Just throwing it out there to possibly make a few of the Oakway SD60's that BN used in the early 90's. They were beautiful locos when new!!

Ahhh, the Oakways. Being a BN fan, I had a love for these locomotives. I had a front row seat to BN in the 80's and when these hit the rails it was special. Along with the LMX units, these were both solidly BN yet very unique and a nice contrast to the constant parade of Cascade green. I even managed to convince my parents to take a short detour in Trinidad, CO during a vacation in '86(?) so I could go see these units awaiting dispatch near downtown. (not understanding at the time that the maintenance facility was actually west of town on the C&W.) I still have that video somewhere and maybe some photos too.
AZL already offers a standard cab version of the SD70, which is still a compromise when trying to model an SD60. I'm not sure the SD40-2 chassis (even if it was a perfect match shell-wise, which I doubt. The trucks might be interchangeable though.) would make that much difference in the grand scheme. Just painting the current SD70 in Oakway colors is gonna pass for 99% of your audience anyway.
I think an SD50/60-series model would be a good candidate for them going forward. Good variety of schemes and having the Oakways and the BN SD60M's would be a great thing for BN/BNSF modelers. Just about every railroad had these including pre-80's merger schemes like Chessie, Seaboard System, Norfolk & Western, et al.
I had an undec SD70 with plans to do the Oakway scheme but then I had a lot of unexpected expenses pop up all at once last year and that SD70 was a casualty. I hope to eventually get another one but not a huge priority at the moment.

Looks like C&NW, Soo Line, and Conrail had the SD60 standard cab, as well as NS had the hand-me-downs.

I bought a few SD70's with this in mind. However it's more than the trucks. You need that distinctive angled blower duct on the side and some minor grill work.
But I agree with the need for AZL to offer one, and SD60 triclops and 2 window wide cab.

Looks like C&NW, Soo Line, and Conrail had the SD60 standard cab, as well as NS had the hand-me-downs. NS was one of the original owners of the SD60's in addition to the ex-CR units they had. NS also purchased some second-hand SD60's (built for CNW, IIRC) that were rebuilt as SD60E's. Offhand, I don't know if any were placed into service before they were rebuilt. There were also the EMD demos in EMD paint (3 sold to CR, 1 retained), three demos in BN tiger stripe paint that joined EMD's lease fleet after they were returned and later sold to CSX, the 10 units built for CSX, and UP. As a side note, EMD 3 was later retrofitted with radial trucks www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4525891

Agreed - I'll send the list to bed without any dinner. Off the top of my head, I recall the F40PH is 33'
