Just wondering about the possibility of securing passenger cars storage boxes similar to that used in the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR.....I have the complete NORTH COAST LIMITED, and the EMIPIRE BUILDER, and the COLORADO EAGLE (with no Dining car), and the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR .... how nice it would be to have all these cars in one box..... whatever the cost, it would be a convenience and would be very attractive.......just a thought......AZL trains are the best!

While the CZ boxes make for a good retail display and are quite an improvement over the way some of the heavyweight set like the Sunset Limited were shipped, I've found it a bit awkward to use and store: the vaccuform insert is a bit flimsy and the dimensions make it hard to store. What I really liked was the box the F59PHI sets were shipped in: www.americanzline.com/locomotives/f59phi/They make for good storage and display. Unfortunately RobK informed me a while back those boxes are no longer available. I would suggest looking at someplace like the Container Store for clear plastic boxes and install the black shipping foam like F59 sets. Although I haven't tried it, I suspect the CZ insert would not work for all the smooth-sided cars and definitely not for heavyweights. I like the idea of keeps consist sets together and after writing the above, I'm thinking about doing this myself for the Amtrak trains and City sets. Mark

I used to store n scale cars in cardboard boxes with foam inserts for cars. Something like that would be great. Stupid question, why can't I find many z scale decals ? Did someone po microscrale ?
