I thought I would share how we create the ads for AZL that appear on the back page of Ztrack. We take much pride in putting trains into scenes and scenarios that fit them. We are very fortunate to have a number of dioramas created by John Cubbin and Loren Synder that we use for many of the photos. Other photos are shot on the Ztrack office modules. In this series, I am going to take your through how we set up the scene and edit the phots. We shot a video on how we setup the scene for the upcoming AZL ad that will appear in the September/October issue of Ztrack Magazine. The scene is from John Cubbin. Here is the link to the video: We shot almost 20 images and choose the following one for the ad. A Canon 7D is uses with a 50mm macro. A tri-pod, cable release are key. We take a series of shots at different exposures and focal lengths to capture the scene. This is the raw photo we chose for the ad: The image below is after we took it into Photoshop to prepare it for the ad. It is much cleaner and some of the surrounding noise is removed:

Okay with the photo cleaned up. We take the image into Quark Express and create the ad. The text and other art is added. Here is the final result: And there you have it. How we create the ads for AZL. Rob
