Hey,
We're a really small group of modelers. Only a small minority of model railroaders are working in z. Actually, Z itself, is quite small. However, the small size can have quite a big impact on those in the general public.
There is good interest from the rest but they are not committing. If you want to make the scale more popular you need to help the rest of us (those who are struggling to innovate) become better modelers.
Share your thoughts and ideas!
Even if you're unsure that's OK, too. Some others may improve on them and make them even better.
Where is the tips section or the issues and ideas needing improvement and DIY topics on the forum? AZL has done a great job supplying some damm fine rolling stock.
I think we need to take what we've been given to the next level.

Great idea! I've only done some limited things so far in Z-scale like some pilot conversions that come with some of the AZL locos, a couple of the Zeletory conversions for the Marklin caboose, and basic scenery details.
I'd love to see the "nuts of bolts" of how other's go about getting to that next level.
