Information/pics are starting to stroll in on social media from the NMRA/National Train Show in Salt Lake City. Post the latest here if you come across anything!
The Archistories Railway Express Agency building looks really cool, and of course the CalZephyr.

I'm hoping some folks will post some pics here too. There are several pics of a very early sample of the RS3, and I just saw preproduction pics of the Gunderson Maxi-I 5-unit articulated Doublestack cars which is what I'm really interested in.

This is a day with "announcements" of already announced products. Exiting since we can show the finished California Zephyr train with matching WP, D&RGW and burlington units. Further we have both the 5-unit Maxi Stack and ALCO RS-3 on our stand. And the ALCO RSD-5 as well. But tomorrow Saturday we will announce something completely new. In the meantime, please post photos to this tread! Sincerely, Hans

Teaser at the NTS from AZL. What can it be? I'm traveling tomorrow so I guess I'm going to have to rely on my phone for an update.

So on to our Saturday new announcement. A project that we have worked on a long time and it is finally entered the tooling stage. Actually two locomotives:
EMD SW1000
and
EMD SW1500
They will be correct to each road name which means correct headlights, number boards and trucks. Expect Spring delivery if testing phase goes according to plan.

Whoa, glad I didn't spring for the brass/shorty parts now. I will definitely be in for a couple of SW1500's and might even grab an SW1000 as well, although I'm sure you'll leave out the older BNSF scheme again and that'll be the end of that. Which is a good segue to a sidebar discussion...any plans to rerun ES44's, and this time in BNSF's Heritage-II scheme that was oddly ignored the first go-round? I know it was stated for consideration once modelers realized the omission and queried as to why, and I think 4 years was given as an estimated timeframe, and I think that was close to 2 years ago. If you simply have no plans to do so (and in lieu of a plastic C44-9W announcement) then I would appreciate if you would communicate that. Funny that a year or two ago AZL was talking about how large locomotives were what sold and tooling 4-axle locos was likely not going to be a priority. Lo-and-behold we now have four 4-axle tooling announcements in as many months! Not that I'm complaining, but just an odd marketing strategy...how many toe-in-the-water Z-scalers saw that denouncement and simply moved (back) to another scale?

From the looks of that REA building(very nice btw), you are very close to being able to offer a modular wall concept that we've been asking about for quite some time. Take a look at DPM/Woodland Scenics - I'll bet those files could be tweaked to make that happen.

Any estimates on release timeframes for the Maxi-I's? (and the RS3's while we're at it) . Other info about the Maxi-I's? (Suggested roadnames, associated containers, estimated MSRP, et al)
