Rob, may I suggest a small edit? As far as I recall, the only SP cars with an antenna were the club-lounge cars, which of course aren't part of this release: Other Rob: I retract my comment about the drain pip sized antenna. The antenna is much more appropriate in real life than the images would indicate.

Thanks AZL! There went a bunch more money! It's a good thing I'm getting a little money back on my taxes. For the future maybe AZL could give me their bank account and routing numbers and I'll just set up direct deposit from my payroll! Great looking cars though! Now we just need that SP E7 B unit in daylight colors along with the daylight cars you will surely release way too soon for me to recover financially...

I'd settle for the SP E7B Daylight units...at least 4 road numbers, powered or unpowered. I just got an email that the MTL SD40-2 are finally shipping (third promise is a charm), so it's really an SP month.

Humh... I placed an order with Anthony a few weeks ago for an SP SD40-2 and a few AZL items, hadn't heard anything so I emailed him and he said they got delayed... so maybe he'll get my order moving. I'm not too fond of ordering something that is supposed to be in stock and ends up backordered!

I pre-ordered back in Jun 2017. The first delivery date for SP was Jun 2018, then December 2018 and finally Mar 2019. I just glad MTL was able to ship before my local dealer retired! I hope it was worth the wait.

I was tempted to say something, but then I figured that once you had them in your hands, you might change you right mind. Thanks for your comment. I agree: the pictures really don’t capture the scale of the antennas very well. As to the antennas being only on the club lounge, take a look at the picture below. As best I can tell, that’s Very very close to the dining car we made. Best Rob(A)

Rob,
Would you happen to have the road number for the diner you posted above? Being the purveyor of trivia that I am, I'd like to follow up on it.
I should also clarify my previous post in that I'm only aware of antennas on lounge cars. That includes the aforementioned club lounge, observation, coffee shop lounge, snack bar lounge and hamburger grill lounge, the last three frequently being converted HW & LW diners or tavern cars. I'm thinking the image is actually a hamburger grill lounge car, and by extension this month's diners. Since SP was retiring full dining service by the mid-1950s this would make sense. I'd post images to demonstrate, but I can't find anything that isn't copyright.
A interesting note: the even the converted HW hamburger grill lounge cars have an antenna.
Mark

Commodore, No I was referring to the antenna. In the image of the observation car in the site banner the antenna appears to be much thicker than it really is.

the new Union Pacific passenger cars and the SP cars also look wonderful....I can hardly wait for the Missouri Pacific cars (hopefully COLORADO EAGLE on the letterboard)…..but I can live with THE EAGLE.... maybe a few of each. . . . maybe before Christmas 2019....thanks to AZL for your efforts to please the model railroad community with quality....THANKS

I hope for cars with "the Eagle" lettering, so I can use them better for my "Texas Eagle" from the Texas & Pacific.

I can live with THE EAGLE....however, if AZL really wants to make me happy, I would prefer COLORADO EAGLE....and I know that AZL wants us all to be happy.....so one of each for coach, sleeper, diner, dome (890,891,892), RPO, BAG .... and if there is an obs (and for the COLORADO EAGLE there should not be) then one of each......anyway, it is exciting and MP will probably be the last to be released.....before it will come CZ, North Coast Limited, Empire Builder, etc .....again keep in touch....I have two brass N-scale E-8 locomotives in EAGLE colors.....in mint condition.....I am thinning out my N-scale activities and so they just look very nice.....

Maybe they will do decals to suit whichever train you want. That would be very cool...they did some add-on decals for the UP cars so who knows.
