Good choice Charlie! What's a good locomotive for this SP set?

Depends on the train and the era. The SP train that fits these cars the best would be the San Joaquin. Depending on the era the engine could be a GS, PA/PB, E9(SP had only one E8) or F7A/B. That train would not have had the sleepers and it would be appropriate to add a couple of the streamline coaches from MTL. If AZL produces a Daylight PB combine, it should be added to this train.
For this particular consist, it appears at least at one time the Cotton Belt ran a Daylight HW train, possibly with F3s. The only reference image I've seen so far is shot from an overpass so I don't have good details.
