I finally got around to building a train display case. I don't have a layout at the moment so I was looking for a way to have the trains out.
It's in Norwegian, but it gives the idea. I used the Ribba series 19" x 27" frame from Ikea. The shelves are made from some trim from Home Depot. MTL flex track provides the method to keep them lined up. The outer frame slides on/off and is held snug (I hope) with shims.
It's been nice to be able to see them again. I found there were some I forgot I had. Attachments:

Nice, thanks for sharing. I had that same thought about a year ago....no layout and it would be nice to have some trains on display. I'm very glad I did it. (I cheated...I just bought one)

Yeah, Chessie has always been my favorite. Their track ran right behind my house in my early days so used to see them all the time.
