American Z Lines has announced two new products at this years Altenbeken Z scale train show. AZL is releasing this spring 1937 40´ AAR Box Cars. This brand new release represents the standard 1937 40´ AAR Box Car. It is offered with Murphy raised panel roof, both Youngstown and Superior doors and the most common 4-5 Dreadnaught ends. AZL also offer the correct choice of wooden and steel running boards. Railroads to be released are: ATSF, ACL, C&O, CN, CP, ERIE, KCS, L&N, NH, NP, NKP, NYC, SOU, SP, UP and WP. They will be available as Single units, Two packs and Four packs. Swiss Z Lines is set to return in 2019! A Brass: SBB Ae 8/14 Doppel-Elektrolokomotive (Twin Electro Locomotive) is scheduled for Fall of 2019. Only 3 locomotive sets were made and SZL will make No. 11801. Built in the early 1930s this locomotive was retired in 1975. Today it is a working museum locomotive. SZL will offer the museum version and an earlier operational version. Pre orders are now welcome. Please emails sales@ztrack.com and specify your interest in the museum version, and/or earlier version. Rob Attachments:Altenbeken News.pdf (318.77 KB)

Hi, Rob. Any chance SZL gets distributed by someone in the Old continent? Currently we AZL European collectors have to pay absurd custom duty taxes to buy stuff from US dealers :-(

Hmm!I have three AZL-Dealer in Germany, where I can buy directly. They vary sometimes in their prizes very much, so I can choose. All in all, the prize in euros is pretty close to the US prize in dollars. I guess, AZL get their taxes back ( like duty free on an airport )when they are doing an export business and they can offer a special price to european dealers. The problem with buying in US for me is the fact, that the high costs for shipping count also for custom duty taxes. I´m not sure if a direct way from China to europe makes it better as long as there is no protection tax from the US-side to these products.

I know only of one, and their prices in euros are exactly the average prices in US dollars + customs :-( If forum rules forbid the sharing of such information, could you be so kind to pm me? By the way, years ago there was a major Swiss e-store, now defunct. I bought a fine brass SZL loco from them. In fact, they carried the whole SZL collection. I agree with you about custom levies taking into account shipping costs too. I never understood how such a folly can happen

For AZL rolling stock, my favourite dealer in Germany is : HRT Datentechnik (in Marsberg). Sometimes You have to wait for about 5 weeks, his orders "go out" when he has a total order of 2000 $ (because of transportation fees). But very good service, in case of trouble ... For MTL, FT and some others (Nansen Street Models, etc ... ) Marsilius Trains (in Krefeld).

I knew this dealer, but bought only items by Randy Brown. The difference in price for AZL between HRT and Case Hobbies is really "peanuts". But HRT sells Rokuhan, too ... and there the prices are REALLY interesting ; my layout is Rokuhan, You saw it.
