I have to apologize...I couldn't help myself. This is one of those "reality is stranger than fiction" things: Stalled Poop TrainWonder if anyone is intrepid enough to model this in Z?

I never thought that they transported biosolids by train let alone in containers like that. Very strange indeed.

For decades SP ran the San Francisco garbage train: a long, slow, smelly, leaking collection of beat up gondolas and hoppers destine for a pit somewhere in Nevada. I suspect you'll find such trains leaving every major city in the wee hours.

The same day I read this article on CNN, I was stopped at a cross. I watched a CSX train going Southbound with the same Epic cars that were in the story! Behind these cars were other containers and hoppers of trash. I assume these too would be stalled when the finally reached Alabama. The train was also hauling brand new GATX hoppers. Nice looking cars! I do have video of the train. It is 5 minutes. But it is too large of a file to attach. My arm started hurting holding the camera for that long! Funny I but It don't believe any manufacturer offers the Epic cars in any scale. Rob

That is a great story Rob. I'm glad you were able to share it here.

we transport a lot more interesting things than poop/soil...what we call dirty-dirt; thing's that make you go hmm... Rob, what you spotted was most likely our Q710 or sister id Q711; originates out of Selkirk, NY. #environmental-mode.
