Yes, and I really like the scale and quality of the faller laser cut kits. They are equal to Archistories.

Archistories structures are beautifully proportioned and sit well alongside Miller Engineering’s brass structures. I have had challenges with both, but prefer them to plastic and 3D printing. It’s a personal choice. Not knocking anyone else’s. My layout has Miller, Archistories, Nansen & Stone Bridge sitting side by side & they each complement the other.

Somehow, that quote really does not translate well. I believe Dirk is saying he doesn't like the Faller kits, which is too bad. I have found them to be sturdy and quite useful. Of course I like the Archistories kits too. IN fact, I think laser cut buildings are the way to go in the future. No hard tooling cost means greater product variety at smaller production numbers without high prices. Win win win.

I just finished the Archistories neo-Gothic Church and I love it. It was fun to assemble and went together so precisely, it's amazing. It's really a beautifully designed kit. And when fully assembled, it's durable! I feel pretty confident that I could drop it, whack it around, knock it over and I wouldn't damage it. OK, the spire might get damaged, but really; it's very durable. Regarding water... well, I wouldn't want to get it soaked. A quick splash that can be quickly wiped up, it'll be fine. But sitting in a puddle and you might not like the results. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this church building. I don't really have any place on my Truckee River Layout for it. So maybe I'll just have to start another layout. I have other kits that need assembling. Maybe that will be my inspiration. But for now, it certainly looks nice sitting in my little field. Bill Mock

If you’re modeling Truckee, the Church of the Mountains there matches the Archistories kit fairly well:

Ahh... I've been thinking of adding on a "Truckee" module for my layout... with the SP Depot, fire station, shops and restaurants, and houses. And... OH! The Archistories Country Church IS a good match for this church. Nice! Thanks for adding some more kindling to my fire Mark. Bill Mock (Building Truckee would be a lot easier than trying to construct downtown Los Angeles with it's iconic Union Station.)

I have built so many Archistories kits it is silly. I build them just for fun! And yes, as long as you don't put them in a puddle they hold up pretty well.

Frank, it is awesome to have you here on the forum with us! I loved your interview in Trainini and am excited to see what you will have for us in the future based on your comments. Make the buildings that you love for us I think I need the new windmill... Full disclosure: I used to build Architectural models so I may be a bit biased. And I only started in model trains a few years ago, in Z, so I gravitated to your kits immediately and freely admit they have become my favorite pastime in Z.

We are very happy that you appreciate our products so much. Thank you very much! I am personally not that much active in forums, simply because I find it inappropriate for me to do kind of advertising here. This is fan-based stuff and if customers recommend us, I am of course happy, but this has to come from the customers themselves, you know. Also whether our customers find our products better than those of other manufacturers. Of course, I'm not completely neutral here, because I simply see a product and well or less well made details perhaps from a professional point of view and this is something that does not interest many customer at all - and also does not have to interest him. The customer likes a model or does not like it. It's that simple for you lucky guys. But that's different for me. That's why I think, it's not our job to do promotion here. Every now and then we are made aware of forum entries and then I also like to comment on them myself: if I could make the buildings I would like to have myself, however, I would get a problem because they are very large... even in 1:220. For example, I would love to make a complete detailed locomotive factory true to the original, but we would hardly be able to sell sufficient quantities of them, because one of the main reasons for Z-fans is the small space requirement and the possibility to work to scale. So we first have to look at what has the potential to inspire and there is already quite a lot, but of course I do not want to reveal it yet. In fact, two products are in the works, one of which is about to be released and the other is scheduled for February. I suggest you let yourself be surprised...

Without "naming names" I will say my favorite kits, are sturdy, assemble precisely, have clear instructions, do not "require" painting (and so have no tendency to warping), look correct to scale in all dimensions, and control internal lighting. Only one manufacturer in my limited experience consistently does all that.

I would not expect you to promote your products in an open forum but maybe here you can "look over our shoulders" like a proud papa That is fine by me! Your comment about large buildings did give me pause though. Wow! A layout (or module) completely dominated by a single purpose building complex like your locomotive factory would be very unique, and maybe only practical in the uniquely capable scale of 1:220.
