I want to give AZL a shout out on one detail of the NS - PRR ES44AC. When we were doing the QC on the units here in the offices, the paint on the hood caught our attention. It looked like the black anti-glare patch was not applied properly. There is Tuscan brown coming through at angles on the hood. Well a little researched showed AZL got it right again. Sure enough, the hood on these units is not all black. Areas where the grab iron are are left Tuscan with the black painted around it. Big props to AZL on this one! It really shows the level of detail going into these locos! See the images below of the comparison. Rob (just wearing a Z scale hat at the moment, not the AZL reps hat). Rob

Yes it's a nice detail. However were I PRR fan. I might be disappointed with the missing yellow panels at the other end of the engine. Were I a PRR fan.

Here's another angle showing that the back wings are Tuscan brown. source: c1.staticflickr.com/9/8341/8187577488_4aafb477de_b.jpg

A big thank you goes to John Cubbin who found the prototype photo that really shows off the hood!

The only glitch is the missing yellow paint at the horizontal bar of the front and rear railing, nobody is perfect ;-)
