Commodore...I am not sure what roads or era you are modelling but it seems that you are going to build a Christmas train with lots of different road names and eras. At least a semi-prototypical train could be a BN loco like a GP30 or SD45, alternating BN and ATSF beer cars and a BN Wide Vision Caboose. Just a suggestion. P.S. Not judging you at all on your choices. You are right, Z scale is different things to different folks. I enjoy the vista view of a running train ...that you can ONLY get with Z scale. I just love watching long trains on wide curves. Z is great for that ...you can see a whole train of 12 cars, at once. Others like the detail that Z scale puts into very small spaces. I think the UP Heritage CNW SD70Ace is perfect for Christmas. Mark suggested the WP SD70Ace UP Heritage ...and I'll try that too. I'll prolly go with mostly hoppers or trinity reefers. Then the Red BN well cars you suggested (with Evergreen containers) with a few Holiday 50' or 60' Boxcars spiced in there. Thanks for your help with the well cars. I'm in the process of moving out of state, so won't be posting for a month or so. Thanks again Rory

Good morning Rory,
I wanted to see your new Christmas train; have you assembled it yet? Looking forward to seeing it.
