My small town is almost full. If and when Miller makes another run, I may have to pass. I filled in the gaps with Stone Bridge Models that make a sweet match.

Only in Z can you fit an entire county on one sheet of plywood! Keep your tracks clean and you’re gonna fall in love!

Alberich, you bring up an interesting topic. When I was younger, no US flag flew after sundown. If on a flagpole with lanyard, it was lowered, folded and brought indoors. It was never flown in foul weather. Now it seems folks leave their flags up 24/7 until they are torn, tattered & sun faded. Does it make someone anymore proud of their country because they display the colors year round? I for one will fly mine for special occasions & respectful occasions only.

I am a new guy to this thread and z-scale, been at it about a year. It has been a space shuttle takeoff ride learning all about z scale. I started off with Marklin because that is what my brother had initially built for my wife. As I got the dormant set revived I started searching the internet to find US providers of z-scale. I stumbled onto MTL and Zscale Monster Trains. I started expanding my layout and horizons and also found AZL and finally this forum. Everyone I have dealt with in z scale has been helpful. This forum has been helpful at times with technical issues such as track problems, locomotive issues and purchasing new equipment. My limited experience has provided me the insight to recognize good equipment and good advice. I believe the "big" three (AZL, MTL, and Marklin) are doing a great job promoting our hobby. They may not be equivalent to N, HO or O gauge manufacturers but they serve us well from my experience. Be well! Stay safe! Fish on! Welcome to the forum!

Me and another gentleman on here are having some weird issues as well, after a simple transaction. I have both bought and sold over 1,300 items, mostly on Epay, and not a single issue over the years-till now! Looks like I'll probably have to find alternate ways of transactions. Hmmm..... eBay & PayPal— it’s like a really bad divorce. And don’t cancel an auction! Even if you repost it, eBay charged a huge cancellation fee!

I have never sold more than $1500 in merchandise in a single year and have never received a 1099 from either eBay or PayPal. I am considered a private single entity, not a business. PayPal reps can’t seem to get that past their tax dept. in order to lift the partial hold on my account. 4 days, 4 reps & 0 luck. So far this year I’ve sold $300. I’ve never had a tax pin.

View AttachmentGot mine there, too! Somebody needs to stop me... First it was one of Rudy’s brass shells. ....Now I want to build a Maersk SDP60F. Let me explain: Last year I had some F40PH shells made. Rob wouldn’t sell me the chassis until all the GP-38 claims were done. NOW, Anthony has a ton of Maersk containers. I can fill-up my Maersk cars. However, I’ve got nothing to pull them with. If AZL makes a Maersk loco ...it will be the SD-40. The F40PH cab is perfect. The SD70ACe is really close dimensionally. If I cut up an SD70ACe I know I’ll do a crap job. I’m not a great painter, either. Somebody! ...please talk me down!!! Oh my! Lololol

They claim this is due to my state’s tax laws. Which state? I wonder how widespread this problem is. Virginia

Oh, they are clever. When I mentioned I’ld close my account, they gave me a $50 voucher. Now I have to spend it on something that costs $50.02 so so can clear my balance and shut down my account. They wanted photos of my social security card and other tax documents I refused to do it didn’t have. The PayPal rep said it was their tax dept. insisting on this. Screw them!

Wow, that's crazy! If your not a business, and no license, you should be exempt. Dang! I agree and feel like I’ve been put through the ringer. They will be happy to take my money when I buy but won’t let me receive money if I sell. I cancelled my next few eBay auctions & now need to find a new venue to sell some Chessie freight cars.

Beware of your state’s tax laws complications when selling on eBay and receiving payments via PayPal. I’ve been a PayPal customer since 2005, both buying & selling. I’ve always been careful not to exceed the IRS limit re. income that would result in a 1099. Suddenly, this year, PayPal’s tax department demanded a tax ID number ( I am NOT a business), a copy of my W9 (whatever the hell that is) & a photo copy of my social security card (ah, no). They claim this is due to my state’s tax laws. Without those, they have frozen my account so that I can buy but not receive payments. And because I have a 0.02 credit on my account, I can’t close my account! I can’t transfer the 0.02 either because you need $2 min. to do a bank transfer. I have spent 3 days on the phone with a PayPal without resolution. I could just open a new account but it would be just a matter of time before the same issue will arise.
