When were these produced and built?! Looks like an AZL Direct exclusive, I never saw anything announced about them. The observation car would be awesome if reproduced in plastic!! Our lightweight streamliners are missing these!! Hint, hint.....

Look at the model number...these are like the first railcars AZL produced maybe 10 years ago. I've seen them in person and they look great although the Daylight set was fantastic.

If I am not mistaken, some brass Daylight cars were produced by AZL even before the set you are speaking about. They were sold together with the GS-4 locomotives. Even articulated ones. I have been looking for some in the secondary market for years, in vain. I guess they are all treasured in some vault

In my inbox: AZL DEALER UPDATE 8/11/08 AZL brass inventories are dropping quickly. We cannot guarantee availability of brass products, especially for the early brass offerings. Shipment of AZL's SP, PRR and NYC brass passenger sets has begun. The first sets were shipped last week. Contact us for pricing and availability of these and other AZL products. Rob Kluz Ztrack Magazine Ltd.The SP set was a 12-car set and sold out quicker than the rest. AZL Direct recently added a "buy the set and get 2 locos free" onto their direct offering. Quite a deal.

Hi Aaron, We are talking about this observation car (pics from Dirk's collection) and this train? Not the Maerklin PRR train packages? Best, Sven

They do pop up on the secopndary market from time to time. You just have to keep a eye out for them on a daily basis. There was a GS-4 + passenger set in daylight paint on ebay just a week or two ago it went for just under 4K.

We are almost sold out of the brass sets. We only have 3x PRR and 1x NYC brass set remaining in stock. These are incredible sets! The SP set sold out long ago. Here is the link if anyone wants to take us up on the offer that includes match E8s. www.azldirect.com/exclusivesThe sets are also available without the locomotives through authorized AZL dealers. I realize you are talking about the brass set but this is the cheaper and easier option for an observation car.
