Is there a good switchers out there for a modern scale that is dcc ready? I've been pushing rapido to make a gmd-1 but that wont happen on the short term lol... I know CN uses them as switchers some times...

In Z, there is no commercially ready to run switcher. There are a couple build it yourself type of kits in brass, but hard to find now.

Well I guess since I can't have an Sw units, I'm gonna have to pretend that a gp38-2 is gonna have to do the trick...

Follow the link the see some switcher types we have in Z; azlforum.com/post/6604Nearly a complete coverage of all available types you will find on this web page: proto87.team.pagesperso-orange.frIn addition, there are kits which allow you to build them according to your wish. My take on Gerard is that he is not a crook. He just run his business badly and doesn't care. It's too bad. His locomotive 🚂 are pretty good.

Both are made of nickel silver, and the Huet can be order dcc ready. Gerd' MP15 can be dcc, but it has be hard wired.

So nickel silver is more easy to form the shell? I was actually thinking of scanning an N scale and 3D printing it to the right scale, then forming a liquid alloy around the plastic shell...
That way I would only have to use an existing loco and swap the shells

I think 3D printing is bit rough.
