My D&RGW SD70ACe the exhaust grill lights up . My SD70ACe WP does not . Maybe lighter paint ? Any one notice this on there loco's? Bob

Yep, mine are the same. the Katy is really bad. It seems they forgot the black paint around the light board in the shell. a little black paint inside should fix it.

I was thinking they had forgot to put something in or on . With out taking it apart first. I figured I'd ask on the forum first. I'll fix it when I add the snow plow then. Thanks Dave Bob

or, black electrical tape.
Mine are all the LED's relocated to the multiple front locations so the LIGHT UP. However, there is leakage around each, since they are pretty much right in the plastic, so a trade off over being able to see them. The next one, I'll leave a little bit of light pipe to I can place black shrink tube over the LED (and act as a strain relief for the fine wires)
