A note on the TCS decoders. It may be a documentation error, but TCS appears to have inverted the DC mode. The documentation for the "old" Z decoders, Z2: www.tcsdcc.com/Customer_Content/Literature/Decoders/Z_Scale/Z2/Z2.pdf (Timmy: a wire-it-yourself unit) and the MZA4 (Micro-trains GP35 drop-in decoder) show the DC bit in CV29 as DISABLE DC. However, the AZL4 (newer AZL GPs Es and Fs) shows the bit set as ENABLE DC www.tcsdcc.com/Customer_Content/Literature/Decoders/Z_Scale/AZL4/AZL4.pdfI haven't been able to check this out, but it implies out of the box the older units came "DC Ready" while the new one seems to require a DCC unit to set the bit so not "DC Ready" This is something that might important to someone starting out in DCC.
