It’s great what AZL has done for the American Railroads . It would be nice to see them model some foreign country’s like Märklin does for U.S.A. Railroads. That being said I like to see the TGV LYria train . Like the Kato n scale shown above. I know Rokuhan has Japans bullet trains already in Z scale. Just like to see some European bullet trains.

If I had to guess, I'd bet their deal with Marklin says something like "stay in your lane."

If I had to guess, I'd bet their deal with Marklin says something like "stay in your lane." Thats kinda weird. Kato models US railroads ,Europe and Japan . Why should that put a damper on AZL? MTL made the first SD 40-2 and didn’t stop AZL from modeling it too and F7’s.

But AZL is producing for Marklin, that is the difference.

If I had to guess, I'd bet their deal with Marklin says something like "stay in your lane." Nope. That would be anti-competitive and against USA and EU law.

Hey, don't badmouth the lawyers! Some are hardworking train enthusiasts.
I was not intending anything quite so literal as a contract to divide the market. Rather, I was suggesting that Marklin might well decide they don't want to do be supplied by a competitor, and the question is really what is the value of that relationship to AZL (assuming Marklin has a termination right upon a "change" in the relationship). But I sure don't have to tell you that.

If you guys want some Z scale European bullet train, you should bow over this : azar-models.com/fr/28-20242025Myself I would prefer AZL to consider producing GE U-Boats rather than bullet trains, even french.🙂🤔 Dom

U23B would be great; a chance for some Penn Central and several of the older (pre-merger) lines I model.
And of course another version of the "weird" Southern short noses.
